The National Agency for Food Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has embarked on an ''underground'' recruitment, TORIGIST has gathered.
The recruitment was not announced to members of the public and is being facilitated by some top management staff in the agency. There have been rumours of recruitment for months now but a visit to the official website of the agency leaves little to savour as there is nothing like it there.
According to information made available to TORIGIST, letters were sent to some people for an interview scheduled for Thursday, September 5th, in contravention of Public Service rules.
TORIGIST gathered that some senior officials of the agency were not aware of the recruitment which was tagged ''replacement'' by some of the people in charge. This, however does not go by Nigeria's public service rules.
TORIGIST recalls that similar practice was also done by NAFDAC in 2016 in a move that courted lots of criticisms from Nigerians.
TORIGIST is calling on relevant authorities to make the recruitment public and employ due process in recruitment to an agency of the federal government.
Prof. Adeyeye, the Director General of the agency is an academic of repute and should steer clear of actions and decisions that will bring her hard-earned name and reputation to disrepute.
